Our Phosphate
PHOSUL UTAH JV:
In January 2024 we announced the expansion of US Operations through a Granulator Plant JV and acquisition of new plant property . Falcon Isle Resources entered into a five year 50:50 joint venture agreement with Phosul LLC, a specialist organic soil enhancement fertilizer company with granulator operations in Idaho. The JV includes the construction and commissioning of Falcon Isle’s 5tph granulator plant at our new Delta Processing Facility. The plant will produce a PhoSul® granulate comprising 80% of FIR’s high grade organic rock phosphate. In addition, to facilitate the significant expansion in processing capacity, FIR acquired an 8.4 acre property with 77,000 square feet of recently constructed undercover warehouse infrastructure to house all processing facilities and equipment including the granulator plant which will be commissioned during the second quarter of 2024. The property is located in the farming town of Sutherland, 8 miles north of the town of Delta, Utah and approximately 80 miles south-west of Spanish Fork. We continue to produce our current dry phosphate products and will soon produce PhoSul® JV granulates at our Delta Facility at the Delta Facility.
Sales and Marketing
Diamond Creek’s product – PhosAgri – is fully certified organic by the key US bodies: CDFA (California) / WSDA (Washington) / OMRI (Organic Materials Review Institute) / ODA (Oregon). Keras’s core focus is to develop market share and plans for expansion to broaden the product mix are under way as negotiations continue on new offtake agreements with repeat customers. A significant development in the broadening of our product mix is the construction of a downstream granulator plant at our Delta Processing Facility which will further expand our range of dry sized products from to include a Phosul granulate product with our joint venture Partners Phosul LLC which will attract a price premium in markets that Keras is not currently supplying. The granulator plant will be commissioned during the second quarter of 2024.
A key component of our marketing effort will be on conducting growth tests across a range of crops and soil types. This process is ongoing and will provide focused market feedback to support of the PhosAgri product use across crop types, regions and planting seasons.
Importantly we are also getting a deeper understanding of our client requirements and adapting our product mix to suit the cyclical seasonal agriculture business which will be key to increasing market share in the dynamic North American organic fertiliser market. We have the flexibility within our operational set up to be able to adapt accordingly which is an important aspect of ongoing discussions across our existing and prospective new customer bases.
